A couple of years ago, I discovered the centuries-old beauty of ink that’s literally derived from walnut husks. Scores of artists such as Rembrandt, da Vinci, Van Gogh used walnut inks in their drawings and writings. Nowadays walnut inks can be from nature or synthetic. There are some very high quality inks, less apt to fade over the decades, but I would really like to try my hand at making my own homemade walnut ink one of these Autumns!
I’ve added other brown inks to my collection as well, as I want to experiment with neutrals and nature. There is something so endearing in these tiny works of art in nature. If you have a suggestion of other things to paint or tips on making ink, leave it below or in messages!
