Turkey Trot Early Bird Prices End Sunday Night

Only a few days remain to save $15 off full price for the Turkey Trot 10K, 5K and Kids 1K Turkey Chase benefiting GraceWorks.

Early Bird prices for the Thanksgiving morning event are $35 for the 10K Run, $30 for 5K Walk/Run and $13 for the Turkey Chase end at midnight Sunday.

In its 19th year, the Turkey Trot attracts more than 3000 participants and is both a family tradition and an opportunity for serious runners. A 10K route is offered this year for the first time. Both the 10K and 5K are USAT&F certified.

Other changes this year for the Nov. 22 event include a new location and an upgraded Very Important Trotter category with special benefits for runners.

“The Turkey Trot is always an exciting family event for GraceWorks and for our community! This year we are especially excited to present three new additions to the race, said GraceWorks CEO/President Valencia A. Breckenridge. “The Turkey Trot is an important event to GraceWorks because it benefits our core services of offering, food, rent, and utility assistance to our neighbors in need.”

The Turkey Trot will begin and end at Prairie Life Fitness, 300 Shingle Way, in Cool Springs. Trotters will run/walk around CoolSprings Mall as in previous years. Runners can obtain amenities such as reserved parking, no waiting curbside check-in, a discount for the 2019 Trot and more by registering as a VIT (Very Important Trotter). The price is $15 per individual runner or $60 for a team no matter the number of team members.

Online registration is available at www.turkeytrotfranklin.com. Registration Oct. 1 to Nov. 20 is $45 for 10K, $40 for 5K and $13 for the Kids Run. Registration Nov. 21 and 22 is $50 for 10K, $45 for 5K and $13 for the Kids Run.

The first 3000 registrants for the 10K and 5K are guaranteed long-sleeved t-shirts, and the first 200 for the Kids Chase are guaranteed short-sleeved t-shirts.

Male and female awards will be given to top three overall, top three Masters for ages 40 and older, and in top three age 9 and younger, ages 10-14 and five-year increments from 15 to 80 and older.

The 10K will start at 7:45 a.m. and the 5K at 8 a.m. The Kids 1K Fun Run begins at 9 a.m.

No pets will be allowed on the course. Jogging strollers are welcome.

Timing and race logistics will be provided by Nashville Striders and race management by Groundworks Management. GraceWorks has been the beneficiary of the event since 2011. Begun in 1999, it was previously called The Habitrot and benefited the Williamson County Habitat for Humanity.

GraceWorks is celebrating its 23rd year of serving Williamson County neighbors in need. More than 20 programs include rent/utility assistance, a food pantry, mobile food pantries, student weekend food, a Christmas gift program, school supplies, holiday food baskets, newborn supplies and other services.
