April Swim Lessons
The Williamson County Parks and Recreation Department’s Aquatics division is pleased to announce the April children’s swim lesson schedule at the Indoor Sports Complex, 920 Heritage Way in Brentwood.
Classes will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays, March 30th – April 29th (skip 4/6 through 4/10). The cost is $80 for the entire session. Beginners swim from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. or 4:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.; Beginners II from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. or 5 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.; Advanced I and II from 5:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Class descriptions:
Beginner I: This class is for those who have little or no experience in the water. Students will be taught basic water adaptation skills such as putting their face in the water, holding their breath and assisted floating.
Beginner II: This class is designed for students who have some experience in the water and are capable of placing their face in the water. The goal for swimmers in this class is to master the prone float and back float unassisted.
Advanced I: This is for the more advanced swimmer who has mastered floating and underwater swimming. Students will be taught the basic techniques of freestyle and backstroke, including roll breathing.
Advanced II: Swimmers in this group will refine the techniques of freestyle and backstroke and move into the basics of butterfly and breaststroke.
Private lessons can be arranged for adults or children at a cost of $30 per lesson. Please contact Gina at 370-3471, ext. 23 for more information.
Pre-registration and advanced payment are required for all swim sessions. Participants must submit a completed registration form, signed release form and payment in advance, either by mail or in person. Classes are filled on a first come, first served basis.
