BLUE HONEY RALLIES FOR THE ROW WITH COVER OF “16TH AVENUE”

Nashville based husband and wife duo Blue Honey, consisting of Troy Brooks and Kassie Jordan-Brooks, recently recorded a cover of “16th Avenue,” which was made famous by Lacy J. Dalton in the 80s and written by legendary songwriter Thom Schuyler, to assist in the efforts to save Music Row.    We are very honored to be a part of the fight to save Music Row,” says Kassie and Troy. ” We hope this video can serve or at least show how much Music Row means to songwriters and musicians in Nashville, big or small.”

The destruction of numerous landmarks on world famous Music Row has been a hot topic among Nashville’s music industry and historians for years, 43 buildings with music industry connections have been demolished since 2013. A plan was recently released to destroy five more buildings on 16th Ave. including the last performance building left, Bobby’s Idle Hour (1028 16th Ave. S.). Historic Nashville Inc. and the National Trust of Historic Preservation have organized Rally the Row, an event open to the public on Tuesday, July 24th from 4:30p – 7:30p at Bobby’s Idle Hour to help raise awareness to save Music Row.   “We want to draw awareness to the importance of Music Row and the history of Nashville. Music is the only industry that brands both the city and the state internationally. People don’t realize that we are responsible for over 10 billion dollars in revenue in the state annually and over 56,000 jobs which is more than New York City and LA music businesses. Music Row first became significant as far back as the 1800s printing sheet music.
