George Thomas, candidate for State Senate, District 19, is hosting his first campaign fundraiser: Purple Masquerade, A Prince Tribute Band. Saturday March 10, 2018 at 8:00 PM at The Nashville Palace, The Purple Masquerade Prince Tribute Band, will capture the essence and symphonic sound of Prince. Featuring Elridge Cavitt as Prince, the band returns you to an era of amazing performances that made “PRINCE” an International Superstar. 
 
“I believe that one person can make a difference, and everyone should try. I am asking for support to serve as the next State Senator for District 19 in Nashville. I am the architect of change and want to make sure that we all soar together, and leave no one behind,” explains Thomas. “Join me on Saturday to support this mission and my campaign.”

About George Thomas:
George Thomas is a compassionate leader and committed public servant. He is a native of St. Louis, Missouri and 27 year resident of Nashville. George is a successful nonprofit leader with a proven record of accomplishments of getting things done. He has lived, worked, volunteered as well as advocated for all children to have an equal opportunity to succeed. He is a graduate of Tennessee State University, where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration in 1996. While at TSU, George was a member of the Aristocrat of Bands as a percussionist and became a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.. In 1999, George established the Education Equal Opportunity Group (EEOG), where he currently serves as Founder and President.  Since 2007, George has received more than $300,000 working with Democrats and Republicans, to help serve at-risk public high school students across the State of Tennessee. EEOG is a culturally diverse college and career readiness organization working to reduce the high school dropout epidemic for disadvantaged students. The EEOG takes great pride in creating a positive, equal opportunity for students who may come from low-to-moderate income families. George has more than 20 years of experience in public service and he has been nominated for various awards and recognition, including selection as a leading community activist by the Future Ready Nashville campaign. In August of 2017, George was recognized by Tennessee Governor, Bill Haslam, for his outstanding service in the best interests and in the highest traditions in the State of Tennessee.
