Celebrating the Farmers Market

Every Saturday, you can count on a great selection of fresh food at the Franklin Farmers Market. It’s food from farms across Middle Tennessee, so you know it’s fresh, ripe and delicious. Our market is one of the top markets in the state for selection, variety and the number of farms represented. Across the country, a similar scene plays out at more than 7,000 markets nationwide. So in honor of that, August 5th – 11th has been declared National Farmers Market Week. Farmers markets play a significant role in supporting farms, the environment and the local economy. And when you buy directly from a farmer, you know where your food is coming from. It’s not an anonymous person behind a counter. It’s a local farmer who’s happy to talk to you about the fresh food you’re buying.
