‘Concert 4 the Cure’ Set for Another Big Night on Sept 7

Lineup of Bands, Silent Auction and Outdoor Setting Make for Memorable Evening; Ticket Prices Increase After Aug. 31

(FRANKLIN, AUG. 21, 2019) — The 14th Annual Concert 4 The Cure (C4TC) is positioned to be one of the event’s most memorable, with an exciting mix of popular bands, an extensive silent auction, great food and the promise of raising tens of thousands of dollars for pediatric cancer research at Monroe Carell Jr., Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt.

C4TC will take place on Saturday, September 7, on the great lawn of the Residents’ Center in Westhaven. Bands participating are Resurrection – A Journey Tribute, World Turning Band – A Fleetwood Mac Tribute Band, and Vic and the Spoils. Tickets are available to the general public via the event website (concert4thecure.org).

Early ticket sales have been brisk, with the VIP option sold out and more than 300 tickets having sold already.

“We anticipate a big crowd this year, and not just because of the entertainment,” said Jenni Vaught, director of business development for the Westhaven Foundation. “The Franklin community is incredibly charitable. As this event was started to help children and families battling unthinkable cancer diagnoses, so many people, sponsors and volunteers continue to step up and support C4TC and Westhaven Foundation. Watching the event come together is inspiring and reinforces what living in Franklin is all about.”

Storme Warren will emcee the event, with several “bonus” speakers throughout the evening.

Ticket prices will increase after August 31, so the C4TC team is encouraging those interested in attending to get tickets as soon as possible. Currently, tickets are on sale for $35 for adults and $15 for children 10 and under — an incredible value for seeing three world-class bands and supporting a worthwhile cause in the process.

“It’s an incredible lineup this year, headlined by ‘Resurrection.’ They are one of the most well-known bands in the area and have built quite a national following,” said Vaught. “We also have ‘World Turning Band’ for fans of Fleetwood Mac, and they put on an amazing show. Of course ‘Vic and the Spoils’ will get everyone in the party mood to start things off. Throw in great food and drink and an extensive silent auction, and it will be a special evening.”

The headlining sponsor this year is Southern Land Company. Other major supporters include Fidelity Investments, LSI, Johnston & Associates, Mapco, Cisco, DCR, Kelly Dougherty of Village Realty, Metro Carpets, The Farm at Natchez Trace, Franklin Synergy Bank, Bridgestone, Jack Daniel’s, Stihl, Commercial Lawn Equipment, Westside Wine & Spirits, Monkey Bars, Sugar Mama, Bertin’s Painting, Sheridan PR and Thompson Burton Law. Lagunitas Brewing Company will provide beverages, and Westhaven Golf Club is providing food for the VIP area. General admission guests will have access to numerous food and drink options as well.

About Concert 4 the Cure

Concert 4 the Cure was founded by the Stacey family and has drawn wide support throughout the Middle Tennessee area. Each year, this annual event takes place in the Westhaven Community of Franklin, TN, and presented by the Westhaven Foundation.

Proceeds from the Concert 4 the Cure fund discovery grants at the Monroe Carell, Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt.  Discovery Grants provide seed funding for cancer researchers to pursue bold ideas in the lab that can lead to breakthrough discoveries in the fight against cancer. Findings from preliminary research supported by these grants are essential to obtain funding from the National Cancer Institute (NCI) and other federal agencies that grant millions every year to support cancer research.

Since 2005, Concert 4 the Cure has raised more than $750,000.
