Franklin Art Scene celebrates the Dog Days of Summer last Friday

Franklin Art Scene returned on Friday, June 1 to celebrate canine companions and the one-year anniversary of Better Cities for Pets, a partnership with Mars Petcare. In honor of the partnership, Mars sponsored a photographer at Outdoor Classic Structures for visitors and their four-legged friends to take an animal portrait. Several sites throughout the crawl featured pet-focused artwork and visitors to Downtown Franklin were invited to bring their furry friends to join in on the celebration.

In honor of the “Dog Days of Summer,” The Downtown Franklin Association is hosting a social media giveaway on the organization’s Instagram account. Followers are invited to post a photo of their animal using the hashtag #BetterCitiesforPets for a chance to win a custom portrait by artist Megan Matthews, who showed her work at Finnleys during this month’s art crawl.
