FREE NATURE PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOPS & NIGHT HIKE

October at Timberland Park

Williamson County Parks and Recreation is pleased to announce free events in October at Timberland Park. The 70+acre wooded park features an interpretive center with educational displays, hiking trails, an ADA accessible trail, picnic tables, and overlook and a butterfly garden. Admission is free. Timberland Park is located at mile marker 437.2 on the historic Natchez Trace Parkway, south of the Highway 96 entrance and iconic bridge.

Saturday, October 7 or October 21: Nature Photography Workshops, 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.  Learn some of the principles of creating beautiful outdoor photography from nature photographer Wade Hooper and staff members. Bring your camera, an empty memory card and full battery as participants will head into the park to test their skills. Friday, October 20: Night Hike, 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  Join the park staff for a night hike around the park. Discovering the sounds and sights of the night in this hike in the dark. Ages 5 and older are welcome on this light to moderate hike; wear hiking shoes and bring a flashlight. Register in advance for this free event at www.wcparksandrec.com, #10309.
