Historic Nashville, Inc. Hosts A Night of Songwriters on March 10

Event Celebrates Preservation Organization’s 50th Anniversary

In celebration of its 50th Anniversary, Historic Nashville Inc. (HNI), the city’s nonprofit preservation advocacy group, will host A Night of Songwriters at legendary Green’s Grocery in historic Leiper’s Fork on Saturday, March 10.

“Historic Nashville exists to help keep Nashville unique, and there is nothing that says ‘Nashville’ more than our music,” said Jenn Harrman, HNI president. “All proceeds for this event will support our advocacy outreach and programs aimed at preserving and promoting Nashville’s historic places.”

Four of Nashville’s top songwriters, singers and musicians will headline the 90-minute concert:
  • Trey Bruce is an Emmy award winning songwriter born in Memphis and currently living in Nashville. He has hundreds of cuts by artists like Randy Travis, Lee Ann Rimes, Carrie Underwood, and ZZ Top. In 2014, Bruce led the successful “Save RCA Studio A” campaign on Music Row.  He is also a proud member of the Historic Nashville Board of Directors.
  • Matraca Berg is a three-time Grammy-nominated American country music singer and songwriter. The Nashville native has released five albums and written many hits including “You and Tequila” for Kenny Chesney and “Strawberry Wine” for Deana Carter.
  • Chuck Jones is a singer, songwriter and extraordinary guitarist from Memphis. He has written many hits over the years for the likes of George Strait, Diamond Rio, and Chris LeDoux.
  • Holly Williams is a singer songwriter and is also a Nashville native. She has been making records and touring the world to wildly positive critical acclaim for most of her life. She has toured with Lucinda Williams and Bob Dylan and is a passionate preservationist.
