Lotz House Announces Chair Donation

Family artifacts dating back to the Battle of Franklin donated to the Lotz House

FRANKLIN, Tenn. – The Lotz House received a donation of chairs that witnessed the bloody Battle of Franklin from their home in Carnton on Nov. 30, 1864.

Lotz House Foundation member Reid Lovell has donated the two antique chairs to be displayed at the Lotz House. The chairs belonged to Minnie Van McGavock Stuart, a relative of John and Carrie McGavock.

“We are proud to display these family artifacts in the Lotz House, thanks to Reid’s generosity and dedication to historic preservation,” said J.T. Thompson, Lotz House executive director. “These are more than just pieces of furniture. These artifacts help us paint the picture of The Battle of Franklin era.”
