New Art Classes for Children

The Williamson County Parks and Recreation Department announces two new children’s arts and crafts classes at the Franklin Recreation Complex, 1120 Hillsboro Road.  Registration is required for all classes. For more information, visit wcparksandrec.com.
 
POWERFUL PRINTMAKING
Students will explore printmaking and learn to use their own designs to create prints. The first class focuses on the tools used for printmaking. Using those tools, students will create a self-portrait and print it. Powerful Printmaking meets Fridays, April 17th – May 8th from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. The class is for children ages 5 to 10 and meets at the Franklin Recreation Complex, 1120 Hillsboro Road. Course fee: $50, plus $5 supply fee payable to instructor. OPTICAL ILLUSIONS IN ART
Explore optical illusions in art and learn the science behind how illusions are created in this four day class. Students will create their own optical illusion drawings using a variety of media and tools. Explore the use of wood, acrylic paints and more. Optical Illusions in Art meets Fridays, April 17th – May 8th from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The class is for children ages 10 and older and meets at the Franklin Recreation Complex, 1120 Hillsboro Road. Course fee: $60, plus $10 supply fee payable to instructor.
