NOVEMBER EVENTS AT TIMBERLAND PARK

November 2: Fall Color Hike

Join park staff for a fall hike and enjoy the colorful leaves and changing of the seasons around Timberland Park. The guided hike will be on Friday, November 2 from 4:00 to 5:00 pm. The one mile trek will cross some uneven ground, so wear good shoes and bring water. The event is free, but registration is required at www.wcparksandrec.com, Registration code: #12926.

 

November 3: Photography Workshop

Learn some of the principles of nature photography from Wade Hooper, one of our area’s great nature photographers. A two-hour workshop is scheduled for Saturday, November 3 from 9:00 to 11:00 am. The session will begin with a slideshow showing some of the amazing photographs taken at Timberland Park and elsewhere. Participants will then be guided through the park by Mr. Hooper and park staff to experience the beauty of the area, and get some great nature shots of their own. Recommended for ages 15 and older. November 9: Guided Hike

Enjoy hiking beautiful Timberland Park on November 9 from 4:00 to 5:00 pm. On the hike, park staff will discuss the natural history of some of the different plant and animal species in the area. The hike will be between 1.5 to 2 miles and is considered moderately strenuous. The event is free, but registration is required at www.wcparksandrec.com. Registration code: #12925.

November 10: Mammal Pelts

Have you ever wanted to feel how soft an otter’s fur is? Or perhaps you want to pet a coyote. This is your chance to do so safely! On November 10 from 2:00 to 2:45 pm, the park will host a talk about some of Tennessee’s native mammals and also get a chance to feel their pelts. The event is free, but registration is required at www.wcparksandrec.com. Registration code: #12930.
