O’More Student Designs Hit the Runway

Select O’More College of Design fashion students will have the opportunity to showcase their individual collections Friday, May 11, in the 14th Annual Eloise Fashion Show, presented by Morgan Stanley Smith Barney.

The show will be held in Liberty Hall at The Factory in Franklin, Tenn. Seating will begin at 7:15 p.m. and the show will start at 8 p.m.

“The talent of this group is remarkable,” said Jamie Atlas, the College’s chair of fashion design. “I think you will continue to hear many of these names in the industry.”

The junior and senior fashion design students have spent months perfecting their pieces. The garments range in style, from couture and menswear to cocktail and children’s wear. The process includes illustrating, pattern making, draping and constructing five to ten outfits for each collection. O’More documented the design process on its social networking sites. The annual fashion show acts as an important facilitator between O’More students and industry contacts. Students are involved in every aspect of the event, including production, promotion and preparation.

The student designers will compete for prizes in the fashion show, including: a top-of-the-line sewing machine donated by SVP Worldwide, cash scholarships, stipend from O’More, and a Designer Look Book produced by and incorporating professional models from Reflection Agency.

Tickets for the general public are $35 and available online at www.omorecollege.edu. Tickets may also be purchased by phone at 615.794.4254 ext. 236.
