OPEN AUDITIONS FOR “INTO THE WOODS” SCHEDULED FOR DECEMBER 9

The Williamson County Parks and Recreation Department’s children’s theatre group, the Rising Stars (formerly Star Bright Jr.), is a theatre program for kids age 5 through 8th grade. Open auditions for the production, “Into The Woods” will be on Sunday, December 9, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., at the Franklin Recreation Complex, 1120 Hillsboro Rd, Franklin, TN. This Tony-award winning musical includes many favorite characters: Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack (and his beanstalk!), and of course the Witch — all who meet and interact in this whimsical and original show. Step into adventure as their different stories intertwine with each other when they all journey “Into the Woods.”

Those auditioning should prepare 16-32 bars of a standard musical theatre song to sing acapella and wear comfortable clothing as students will be asked to move and read during the audition. The casting director is looking for young performers with strong vocal and acting talent and energy, who are comfortable building characters. All experience levels are encouraged to audition. Please bring a photo to staple to the audition form, a snack, and water.

Once cast, a participation fee of $75 will cover 40+ hours of professional instruction, make-up, costumes, sets, full production, and a t-shirt. Performance Dates: February 28 – March 3, 2019. For more information, visit the activities/childrenstheatre page at www.wcparksandrec.com or contact Alison Worden at (615) 786-0186, ext. 2513 or Alison.Worden@williamsoncounty-tn.gov.
