PILGRIMAGE MUSIC & CULTURAL FESTIVAL UNVEILS AMERICANA MUSIC TRIANGLE EXPERIENCE PROGRAM

#MakeThePilgrimage To Franklin, TN

SEPTEMBER 22 & 23, 2018

Franklin, TN – August 17, 2018 – Pilgrimage Music & Cultural Festival continues to celebrate the music culture of the Southern states with its second annual Americana Music Triangle Experience. This year the AMTE weaves an even broader and more vivid story of the landscape that bore the music that became an identity – Rock ‘n’ Roll, Blues, Jazz, Gospel, Bluegrass, R&B/Soul, Southern Gospel, Cajun/Zydeco, and Country Music. PRESS HERE to watch a recap of last year’s Americana Music Triangle Experience.

Within a richly atmospheric tent created by American Pickers and Antique Archeology, festival-goers will be treated to the music, history, and living culture found along the Americana Music Triangle, a driving route which maps the collective towns where the first chords of these enduring genres were strummed. The story will be brought to life by town vignettes, musical performances, passionate scholars, and colorful storytellers.
“Pilgrimage has partnered with the Americana Music Triangle in bringing 13 unique southern and global municipalities to share the music and stories about the different musical heritages of these places. This one-of-a kind music storytelling space brings to life the culture of some of the world’s premier music tourism destinations, in one spot – Franklin, TN!” says Pilgrimage co-producer Brandt Wood.

Among the places on the Triangle patrons will get to know are the State of Alabama, State of Arkansas, Clarksdale, MS, Country Music Hall of Fame & Museum, Florence, AL, Muscle Shoals, AL, Ryman Auditorium, State of Tennessee, Tunica, MS, Tupelo, CVB, State of Mississippi, New Orleans Jazz Museum, and of course the town where it’s all happening, Franklin, TN.

Drawing on the deeper story of southern music, the experience is also very proud to introduce the Lake Wamala Cultural Troupe, who are making the pilgrimage from their home country of Uganda, Africa. The troupe will be performing traditional rhythmic music to celebrate the influence of African music on the birth of American music.

In addition to the Lake Wamala Troupe, the Americana Music Triangle Experience will feature performances and talks by Aubrey Preston, Shain Shapiro, Judy Hood, Bishop Gunn, Joanne Cash, Holly Williams, The Rebirth Brass Band, Bubba O’Keefe, The Fairfield Four, Dr. Carroll Van West, and Greg Lambousy. To watch a field report of the Americana Music Triangle Experience ft. Aubrey Preston and Bishop Gunn with Julienne Joyner, PRESS HERE.

The Americana Music Triangle spans more than 30 communities along the “Gold Record Road” (the Natchez Trace Parkway, I-10, Highway 90, Highway 61, and I-40), the Americana Music Triangle is a milestone collaboration of cultural attractions across the South.
