Spring Break Camps for Kids

The Williamson County Parks and Recreation Department announces a variety of Spring Break Camps for kids in April at the Longview Recreation Center at Spring Hill, 2909 Commonwealth Drive in Spring Hill. No membership is required. We are a public organization, here to benefit the community. Anyone, including out-of-county residents, can register for and participate in our classes – even if you don’t have a facility pass! So what are you waiting for? SPRING BREAK CROCHET CAMP
Are you looking for fun activities for your children during Spring Break? Children ages 8 and up can stay busy learning to crochet Easter egg decorations and bunny egg covers for their Easter baskets. Kids will learn basic crochet stitches and then use those skills to crochet fun projects. A supply list will be provided at registration, and supplies will need to be brought to the first day of class. The camp will meet Monday – Wednesday, April 6th -8th, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The camp fee is $40 for 3 days. The instructor is Twila Dry. LEGO BATTLE BOTS CAMP
Spring Break is approaching quickly! Keep your child busy with this active and fun LEGO® camp. Using very advanced parts and pieces, students learn to design and build their own motorized battle cars and other vehicles. By using the principles of simple and complex machines; gearing and mechanical advantage, students will try to flip, push or smash their opponent’s battle vehicles. Lessons will demonstrate the use of mechanical lifts, nets, drills, ramps and more to disable or overcome their bots. The camp will meet Monday – Thursday, April 6th – 9th from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and is for kids ages 8 to12 years old. The cost is $105. INTRO TO DANCE – BALLET, JAZZ, MODERN AND HIP HOP

This four day camp is for beginner to intermediate level dancers ages 8 – 12. Students will have the opportunity to learn techniques from four different dance genres including, Ballet, Jazz, Modern and Hip Hop. Students should wear dance attire or work out clothes and are allowed to bring water bottles to class. Camp dates are Monday through Thursday, April 6th – 9th from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. The cost is $60, and the instructors are Megan White & Ginny Primeaux. BACK TO THE BASICS – BALLET, JAZZ, HIP HOP
This camp for 5 – 7 year old beginner or intermediate level dancers covers a new dance genre each day of camp. In total, students will receive 1 hour of instruction each in Ballet, Jazz, & Hip Hop. Students should wear dance attire or work out clothes and are allowed to bring water bottles to class. Camp dates are Monday and Wednesday, April 6th and 8th from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. The cost is $25.00, and the instructors are Megan White & Ginny Primeaux. PRINCESS DANCE CAMP
Aspiring ballerinas ages 3 – 5 learn the basics of a Creative Movement (Pre Ballet) in this dance class. Students will also get to participate in a princess dress up and story time and dance games. The last day of camp there will be a 5 minute show for parents of what the children have learned. “Princess Camp” will be held Tuesday and Thursday, April 7th and 9th from12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m., and the cost is$25.
