Story of Arthur MacArthur topic of June’s Civil War Round Table

The executive director of the General Douglas MacArthur Memorial in Norfolk, Va., will be the featured speaker at the next Franklin Civil War Round Table at the Carnton Plantation’s Fleming Center on Sunday, June 12, at 3 p.m.

Chris Kolakowski, an author and historian who received his BA in history and mass communications from Emory & Henry College and his MA in public history from the State University of New York, will discuss Arthur MacArthur and his role at the Battle of Franklin. He was injured during the battle on Nov. 30, 1864, but his family ties in Tennessee add a new perspective to his story.
