CLASSES OFFER FUN AT THE FAIRVIEW RECREATION COMPLEX

Basket making, pottery, young Rembrandts & more

The Fairview Recreation Complex, 2714 Fairview Blvd. has ongoing classes for children and adults. Choose from basket making, pottery, art, or Wiggles & Giggles playtime.

Young Rembrandts

The Young Rembrandts art program offers ongoing art classes for ages 5 to 13. This class meets every Monday from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., September 25-October 30 ($100 for course).  Students will learn the bedrock drawing skills required for future artistic success.  Subjects include a fire truck, Fall leaves and cultural themes. Elementary Drawing meets at the Fairview Recreation Complex.  To register, go to www.wcparksandrec.com.  

 

Basket Making

Join instructor Ann Schlemm for a fun, interactive and informational class where students learn to construct and weave baskets.  Ann has over 25 years of experience in basket making, and is eager to share her knowledge. Basket making meets Wednesday, September 20-October 11 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Fairview Recreation Complex, 2714 Fairview Blvd. For ages teen and adult. The course is $40 and registration is open at www.wcparksandrec.com.

 

Teen/Adult Pottery

Join the fun in an ongoing pottery class at the Fairview Recreation Complex every Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Instructor June Lusty teaches hand built and thrown techniques. No experience necessary.  There is a one-time $25 supply fee. Each class is $12. For ages 15 through adults. For more information, contact the instructor  at 615-794-4269.

 

Wiggle & Giggles

Drop the kid off (ages 3 to 6) in the gym for Wiggle and Giggles supervised play time every Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Free with any family pass. Kids enjoy games, relays and free play while parents work out in the facility.
