White Tie Fashion in Franklin

In a year of firsts, the first family chairs, the Anderson Family, are ramping up the 35th annual Heritage Ball from a blacktie event to a more formal white tie event.

“We have themed the September 13th Heritage Ball ‘An Age of Elegance’ so we feel white tie will be more appropriate to the grandeur of this year’s ball,” stated Teresa Anderson of the Anderson trio.

But not to worry if you are unsure of what “white tie” involves because American Tuxedo & Bridal is offering to all guests a Heritage Ball Special for the ultra formal “white tie” classic full dress. The cost has been greatly reduced for ball attendees for only $79.95 with formal shoes an extra $15 and you may call 615.778.9555 to reserve yours today.

Danny Anderson states “the American Tuxedo store located at 420 Cool Springs Boulevard (across from PF Changs and Bread & Company) in Thoroughbred Square has mannequins in house to show off not only white tie for the September 13 th Heritage Ball but black tie for the September 6 th Patrons’ Party, and the good news is attendees to both events get the same discounted special!”

Gentlemen’s Attire

For the handsome gentlemen at the ball, the traditional classic full dress consists of a black tailcoat with satin lapels and matching trousers and traditional white pique fabric for the shirt, vest and tie including white pearl cufflinks and studs. White gloves are traditional but will be considered optional for the Heritage Ball.

Ladies’s Attire
For the lovely ladies, Teresa states, “We are fortunate that we have the opportunity to wear formal gowns but we have heard that many ladies are looking in their closets for their long white gloves worn years ago.”

The Presenting Sponsor for this year’s Ball is Vanderbilt Williamson with several other individuals and companies serving as Supporting Sponsors. The Heritage Ball, though an invitation only event, is inclusive and open to anyone who would like to attend. Formal invitations are being mailed to all Heritage Foundation members on August 1 and those interested in being added to the invitation list may call 615.591.8500 Extension 11 or email drogers@historicfranklin.com to request an invitation.
