WILLIAMSON COUNTY CASA RECEIVES GRANT FROM THE HEALING TRUST

The Healing Trust presents CASA with $37,794 to provide a supervised CASA for every child

FRANKLIN, Tenn. — Williamson County CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) recently received a grant from The Healing Trust, which awarded funds totaling more than $800,000 in its most recent grant cycle. Williamson County CASA’s grant of $37,794 for 12 months will support the non-profit in providing a supervised CASA for every child in need.

“We are so thankful to The Healing Trust for their generous grant,” said Williamson County CASA Executive Director Marianne Schroer. “As we continue to grow, we need additional trained CASAs to support abused and neglected children in Williamson County. In 2018 we are expected to sever more than 725 children, and this grant from the Healing Trust will help to provide a CASA for every child that we serve in Williamson County.”

The mission of The Healing Trust, a private grant making foundation, is to foster healing and wholeness for vulnerable populations through strategic investing, philanthropy and advocacy. Recipients of The Healing Trust’s contributions include non-profit organizations from 40 counties in Middle Tennessee that focus on advocacy, physical and mental health and recovery from alcohol and drug abuse, neglect and violence. This year’s grants bring the collective grant making of The Healing Trust to over $80 million since 2002.

The Healing Trust’s President and CEO Kristen Keely-Dinger added, “we are deeply grateful for the life changing work done by these 23 grantee partners. Their efforts to improve the health of our community is inspiring.”
