Summer fun for kids of all ages!

The Williamson County Recreation Complex at Nolensville, 7250 Nolensville Rd., has a summer full of classes and camps for kids ages 3-17.  Try a theatre class, art, video game design, science camp, cooking, Hogwarts or Jedi Training. All classes are open to the public, and registration is available at www.wcparksandrec.com.

 

Disney Favorites Performing Arts Camp

With catchy tunes and dances from Disney favorites like Mary Poppins, Snow White and Jungle Book to the latest favorites like Frozen and Moana, this one-week camp will have kids singing and dancing through musical numbers. Daily instruction will lead up to a Friday showcase performance for parents and friends. Camp will be offered for ages 3 to 6, June 4-8 at the Williamson County Recreation Complex at Nolensville, 7250 Nolensville Rd. Camp is from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and the fee is $200. Art with Kreative Kat

Kids, ages 8-14, come join the fun creating beautiful art in this ongoing class! Everyone can be an artist in this class, as the instructor ‘Kat’ helps students realize their potential.  Kat teaches mainly drawing, watercolor, and acrylics. Cooking Academy

Kids will tantalize their taste buds and have fun with food!  Different recipes each day from appetizers to entrees, snacks, desserts and more. Learn about nutrition, dining etiquette, and cooperation skills in this scrumptious class.  Meets Wednesday-Friday, June 6-8 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m at the Williamson County Recreation Complex at Nolensville, 7250 Nolensville Rd. Hairspray to Hamilton Musical Revue Camp

Warm up your vocal chords for this summer performing arts camp, designed for theatre loving kids (ages 7 to 17). Perform in a brand new musical revue written and directed by Julia Nolen and Shana Purkey. From Hamilton to classics like Hairspray and A Chorus Line, there is something for everyone.  On Friday, students will perform for friends and family. This five-day camp is June 11-15 at the Williamson County Recreation Complex at Nolensville, 7250 Nolensville Rd. Camp is from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and the fee is $200. Science Camps

Weird and wacky science experiments for kids! Each class includes a variety of hands-on experiments to get kids ages 4-9 excited about science. Ms. Amy’s Art Zoo

Spend the week with Ms. Amy creating an art zoo! Draw and paint giraffes, penguins, zebras, elephants and more. Explore several mediums including markers, paints, pastels and mixed.  June 25-29, 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., at the Williamson County Recreation Complex at Nolensville, 7250 Nolensville Rd. The Gaming Academy

Video Game Design

Learn the basics of video game design and produce games to share with friends. Jedi Training Camp

The force will be with you as you learn the ways of the Jedi!  Play games, build vehicles and go from Padawan to Jedi Knight. Make your own costume and a light saber to take home. Hogwarts Academy

Perfect your magic skills in this interactive creative spell-binding class. Find out which house you belong to and learn how to make potions, use your wand, identify creatures and more. Guitar Lessons

Learn to play the guitar in 30-minute private lessons on Thursdays at the Williamson County Recreation Complex at Nolensville. Barre

Barre combines ballet, Pilates and yoga to develop beautifully sculpted lean muscles. Barre uses intense isometric training with low-impact moves that focus on balance, lengthening and strengthening. No dance experience is required.  This 60-minute class is offered at the Williamson County Recreation Complex at Nolensville, 7250 Nolensville Rd., on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:00 a.m. and Saturdays at 8:05 a.m.  Please register in advance at www.wcparksandrec.com.

 

Piano/Voice Lessons

Weekly, private voice and piano lessons are available on Tuesdays in from 4:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Williamson County Recreation Complex at Nolensville, 7250 Nolensville Rd. Lessons are offered in 30-minute time frames. Learn note reading skills, music theory and artistic technique using a variety of styles and learning how to sing with correct technique while expanding your range! Ages 7 through adults.
