WINTER BREAK FUN FOR KIDS At the Franklin Recreation Complex

Keep the kids busy over Winter break with classes and activities at WCPR’s Franklin Recreation Complex, 1120 Hillsboro Rd., Franklin, TN.

January 2 & 4: Young Rembrants Pastel Workshop – 12:30 – 3:00 p.m. This winter break our Young Rembrandts’ students will find themselves captivated by exotic African beasts. Our “Animals of Africa” Pastel Drawing Workshop offers a challenging 3 day course. Students will learn about some of Africa’s most majestic animals as they illustrate them using pastel chalks. An antelope showcased within a mélange of patterns, a stylized zebra with a creative color palette and a regal lion are a few of the beasts to be explored. No experience necessary. January 3: Color Wheels YOU + ME Paint Night – 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Join us for a fun night of adult + child partner art. Open to parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc. Paint a pair of canvases that fit together to create a colorful piece you both are sure to love! January 4: Mr. Bond’s Science Guys: Parent and Me Science Night – 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. Join the Science Guys for an evening of science fun! After an exciting science demonstration, adults and children will take part in hands-on activities together. For ages 5-12. Cost is $30. Register for activity #13559 at www.wcparksandrec.com. 

January 5: RoboThink Battle Robots Workshop – 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. Design and battle a robot in real life!  Learn how to use RoboThink’s innovative robotics pieces, motors, switches, axles and gears to build your robot and battle with your friends. Our lesson plans are built around RoboThink’s proprietary kits, plans and STEM curriculum, designed by teachers and engineers. This workshop is interactive, hands-on and engaging to promote learning in a fun way. No prior skill required.
