State reports three cases in wildlife-Vaccinations crucial

The Williamson County Animal Center (WCAC), 106 Claude Yates Dr. in Franklin, TN will offer $10 rabies shots and $15 microchips at their monthly clinic, Saturday, June 24 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Recently, the Tennessee Department of Health confirmed rabies in two skunks and one bat in Middle Tennessee. WCAC reminds the residents of Williamson County to vaccinate their pets against the deadly rabies virus, as state law requires. Protecting pets from this fatal illness is safe, easy and effective.

WCAC offers rabies and microchip clinics the last Saturday of each month from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the shelter, located at 106 Claude Yates Dr. in Franklin, TN. The $10 rabies fee includes a one-year shot and a collar tag. The optional $15 microchip protects your pet from loss for a lifetime. Chips are automatically registered to a database so pets can be reunited with owners when found. Clinics accept cash and checks only; no credit or debit cards.

Pets of the Week-

jayz copy Dog – Jay Z

My name is Jay-Z, and I am on a nationwide search for my Beyonce! My two favorite things in life are humans and playing! My favorite place to go at WCAC is the play yard where I run around like a mad man chasing frisbees!  When I am done, I become a big lap dog and drape myself over you for hugs and kisses! If you adopt me, I might even rap a few sick beats for you.

My name is Honey Bear, and I am a big ol’ lump of love looking for a honey of my own. My favorite thing to do is to take naps in the sunshine! I am a pretty chill dude, looking for someone who wouldn’t mind a couch companion and giving me a few chin scratches now and then! I am 12 years old, and I do well with other cats, children, and dogs!
