YOUTH VOLLEYBALL LEAGUE REGISTRATION

Ages 7-15: Register by February 21

The Williamson County Parks and Recreation Department (WCPR) is pleased to announce open registration for the Spring 2018 youth coed volleyball leagues for kids ages 7 to 15 (age as of August 31, 2017).

The purpose of the program is to teach the fundamentals of volleyball to beginners and hone the skills of more experienced players. The leagues are divided into three age groups: introductory (ages 7-9); intermediate (ages 10-12) and advanced (ages 13-15). This year the league will offer three options for practice locations: Franklin, Brentwood or Nolensville, TN. Register for the practice location you prefer. All games will be played on Saturdays with most matches held at Academy Park Gym, 120 Everbright Ave. in Franklin.

Registration ends on February 21.  There will be a draft on March 6 for intermediate and advanced leagues, and the season is scheduled for March 24-May 12.

The Introductory League (ages 7-9) is designed to build basic volleyball skills. Games and practices will be with volley lite balls and players do not have to serve from behind the baseline. Coaches are volunteers and will help explain the rules during game play. Fee: $65.

The Intermediate League is for kids ages 10-12 who are beginners and want to improve their volleyball skills. This level is for players who have not played regularly or do not have middle school/travel experience.  Games will be played with Volley Lite balls and players will not be required to serve from behind the baseline. Fee: $90.

The Advanced League is for 13, 14 and 15 year olds who desire intense and competitive training and have middle school or travel volleyball experience. Players will be required to serve from behind the baseline and will be encouraged to serve overhand. Games will be played according to TSSAA rules.  There will be a round robin tournament at the end of the season. Fee: $90.

All registration is on-line at www.wcparksandrec.com.   For more information on youth volleyball leagues, contact Adrian Ludwig at AdrianL@williamson-tn.org.
