Over 100 volunteers have signed-up for Day of Action, a community-wide volunteer opportunity coordinated by United Way of Williamson County

Held on June 21, the longest day of summer, Day of Action harnesses the volunteer spirit and encourages United Way of Williamson County’s corporate partners to take action in their community. Day of Action maximizes the impact of volunteering by tackling large-scale service projects that provide various benefits to nonprofit agencies.

This year, local corporate and community volunteers will join together to help Franklin Special School District prepare for the 2018–2019 school year. Volunteers will gather at the Poplar Grove school campus to assist with window cleaning, painting, general cleaning, landscaping, and other assignments.

Volunteering allows United Way partners to take greater ownership of the community they serve, granting the people who live and work in Williamson County a deeper awareness of local needs.

Day of Action is an annual global call to action organized by United Way Worldwide. Local activities are coordinated by United Way of Williamson County’s Volunteer Center, which is managed by Debby Rainey (VP, Strategic Initiatives).
