BBB to Spotlight the Importance of Integrity in the Music Industry at 3rd Annual Songwriter’s Night on Friday, May 3

BBB of Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky will host their 3rd Annual Songwriter’s Night on Friday, May 3rd, 5:30pm, at The Factory at Franklin. This year’s event will be hosted by News4 anchor Carley Gordon, and will feature performances by renowned Nashville songwriters, Aaron Raitiere, Lee Thomas Miller, and Wynn Varble.
All proceeds from the event benefit BBB Integrity Foundation, which supports ethical business, personal integrity, and smart consumerism in the marketplace.
Each year, BBB Integrity Foundation provides numerous educational programs and events, including Shred Days, Torch Awards for Ethical Business, and scholarships for Students of Integrity. These programs and events total over 15,000 participants annually throughout the Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky service areas.
This year’s theme, “It’s Wrong to Steal a Song” spotlights the importance of integrity in the music industry and making consumers aware that when they obtain music illegally or only through streaming services, it affects the music label and all the people behind the music.  According to estimates from Billboard Magazine, for every dollar Spotify paid out to creators in 2017/18, approximately 81% went to labels and artists and only 19% went to the writers and publishers.
Songwriter’s Night is sponsored by Firestone Complete Auto Care and Dalamar Homes. Tickets are available for purchase at http://bit.ly/BBBSWN2019
