101.1 THE BEAT PRESENTS THE 4th ANNUAL CRACKER BARREL SISTA STRUT EVENT TO BENEFIT BREAST CANCER RESEARCH

Nashville, TN – January 22nd, 2018 – 101.1 The Beat, Nashville’s Only Hip-Hop and R&B station, today announced its 4th Annual Cracker Barrel Sista Strut, a 3K breast cancer charity walk to raise awareness for community resources and how breast cancer affects the African American community. Sista Strut will raise funds for breast cancer research and will kick off at the historic Hadley Park on Saturday, April 21, 2018.

Sista Strut will raise money for breast cancer survivorship organization Sisters Network. 101.1 The Beat will promote the event on-air with tips about breast cancer prevention in the African American community and will provide resources for listeners to learn more.

WUBT-FM’s inaugural Sista Strut is modeled after the successful event from sister stations Majic 100.3, St. Louis’ R&B and Back in the Day Jamz, and Hallelujah 1600, St. Louis’ Gospel Hits radio station. Listeners can visit www.101thebeat.com/sistastrut to register individually or as a team.

Cracker Barrel Sista Strut will take place on April 21, 2018 beginning at 8 a.m. with registration and pre-event activities and at 10 a.m. the walk will begin at the Hadley Park band shell. A percentage of the funds raised will support Sisters Network, Nashville Chapter.
