The Williamson County Parks and Recreation Department offers a fitness center, gymnasium and ongoing classes at the Hillsboro-Leiper’s Fork Community Center, located at 5325 Old Highway 96. WCPRD is a public organization, with programming and facilities designed to benefit the community. No membership is required. Anyone can register for and participate in classes – no facility pass is required. Pre-registration is required for all classes.
TumbleWeeds
Instructor Erica Hardee assists Pre-K to Elementary-aged children in basic gymnastics exercises and movements on ongoing Mondays from 5 p.m. to 5:45 p.m., January 4-25 (skip 1/18). Cost is $52 per month. A discount price of $38 applies for each additional sibling. For registration and more information, contact Erica at 715-3958. Yoga
You don’t have to be in great shape to do Yoga! Instructor Suzi Ambar-Worrell leads adult students in stretching, toning and strengthening exercises to bring every “body” into great shape. Classes are on Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., January 8-29. Four classes for $60. Registration is required by calling 591-9274. Classes meet at the Hillsboro-Leiper’s Fork Community Center, 5325 Old Highway 96 West.
Kids’ Ceramics
It’s time for fabulous Christmas ceramics for kids ages 3 and older. Bring in the holiday season painting a ceramic piece that you choose. Wear old clothes because it can be messy. Ceramics will be Thursday, January 21 from 5:15 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Hillsboro-Leiper’s Fork Community Center. Call 591-9274 to register.
PAINTING WITH CINDY
Kids will learn how to create a painting of three sailboats on canvas and how to use light and dark color values to make objects look more real. Painting with Cindy will be on Thursday, January 21, from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. For ages 9 and older. The class is $10 per painter. Call Hillsboro-Leiper’s Fork Community Center to register: 591-9274.
