“Into The Woods Jr.” Musical Presented By Children’s Theatre Group – Rising Stars

The Williamson County Parks and Recreation Department’s (WCPR) children’s theatre group, Rising Stars (formerly Star Bright Jr.), will present “Into The Woods Jr.” (and pre-show “A Mixed-up Fairy Tale”) at the Williamson County Performing Arts Center at Academy Park, 110 Everbright Ave., Franklin, TN. Performance times are: Friday, March 1 at 7:00 p.m.; Saturday, March 2 at 2:30 p.m.; and Sunday, March 3 at 2:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.  A sensory-friendly performance will be held on Saturday, March 2 at 10:30 a.m.  This Tony-award winning musical includes many favorite characters: Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack (and his beanstalk!), and of course the Witch — all who meet and interact in this whimsical and original show. Step into adventure as their different stories intertwine with each other when they all journey “Into the Woods.” Tickets ($8) are available beginning February 5 at www.wcparksandrec.com.

WCPR’s Rising Stars program is a wonderful training ground for young performers ages 5 through 8th grade. Rising Stars produces two full-scale musical productions each year in an effort to give younger actors the skills and opportunity to be on stage in leading roles. Additionally, several Broadway style intensives/camps are offered each summer along with workshops hosted by seasoned professionals in the performing arts industry.
