The following FREE concerts have been added to the Nashville Symphony concert calendar.

Voices of Spring

3 p.m. Sunday, March 3, 2019

This FREE annual concert will showcase the magnificent voices of the Nashville Symphony Chorus under the leadership of director Tucker Biddlecombe. Works to be performed include “Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing,” Haydn’s Te Deum for the Empress Maria Therese and Nashville-based composer Daniel Elder’s World Without End. This very special choral showcase will also welcome several vocal ensembles from the community, who will share their own musical selections. Learn more here.

Youth Orchestra Festival

6:30 p.m., Monday March 18, 2019

This first annual event will showcase the Middle Tennessee region’s finest young orchestral players. Formerly a feature of the annual Free Day of Music, this festival is now a stand-alone event designed to provide local youth ensembles with an opportunity to share a wide range of repertoire. Schermerhorn Invitational Choral Festival

5 p.m. Monday, March 25, 2019

Each year, the Nashville Symphony invites students from Middle Tennessee school and community choral programs to take part in the Schermerhorn Invitational Choral Festival. Students have the opportunity to participate in master classes and rehearsals throughout the day, culminating in a public evening performance. This year’s festival is under the direction of Nashville Symphony Chorus Director Dr. Tucker Biddlecombe and will feature a performance of selections from Carmina Burana. Learn more here.

 

The GRAMMY® Award-winning Nashville Symphony has earned an international reputation for its innovative programming and its commitment to performing, recording and commissioning works by America’s leading composers. The Nashville Symphony has released 29 recordings on Naxos, which have received 24 GRAMMY® nominations and 13 GRAMMY® Awards, making it one of the most active recording orchestras in the country. The orchestra has also released recordings on Decca, Deutsche Grammophon and New West Records, among other labels. With more than 140 performances annually, the orchestra offers a broad range of classical, pops and jazz, and children’s concerts, while its extensive education and community engagement programs reach 60,000 children and adults each year.
