Friends, family, patrons of the arts and industry professionals gathered May 7-12 to celebrate O’More Design Week, the premier annual event of O’More College of Design in Downtown Franklin and an important scholarship fundraiser for the College.

Professional shows for Fine Arts, Interior Design, Visual Communications and Fashion Design held at The Factory at Franklin throughout the week exhibited the design students’ individual talents across the departmental spectrums. The series of showcases also served as a venue for announcing the College’s 2012 scholarship winners and other awards.

“This week is geared around the graduating seniors’ projects, but we also use the events to recognize rising students whose exceptional work has earned them scholarships,” said Shari Fox, O’More College of Design’s Vice President of Academic Affairs.

The Interior Design, Visual Communications, and Fine Arts shows were presented during a collective Design in ReVue exhibit on May 9 in Jamison Hall at The Factory at Franklin. Guests mixed and mingled with students and faculty, discussing the seniors’ capstone projects over wine and hors d’oeuvres. Students who received a departmental scholarship at the end of the night were recognized for the design excellence they exhibited throughout the year.

On May 11, hundreds gathered to be part of 14th annual Eloise Student Fashion Show, O’More’s grand finale of Design Week. Guests were privy to a highly produced, New York-style runway show in Liberty Hall at The Factory at Franklin that included individual collections from 25 student designers.

Before the show, a panel of industry experts judged the collections on their construction, cohesiveness, creativity and marketability. The designers’ pieces were also evaluated on runway presentation, and the four student winners were announced at the end of the night.
