Ongoing Children’s Classes

The Williamson County Parks and Recreation Department offers a variety of ongoing children’s classes at the Franklin Recreation Complex, located at 1120 Hillsboro Road.  For more information on activities at the Franklin Recreation Complex call (615) 790-5719, ext. 2010 or view the monthly newsletter at www.wcparksandrec.com.  You may also receive department information by “liking” us on Facebook. Williamson County Parks and Recreation is a public organization, here to benefit the community. Anyone may register for and participate in the department’s programs, teams, classes and events. Pre-registration is required for all classes.

PLYOMANIACS
Join this new Plyometric exercise class! This class is for anyone who wants to get faster, jump higher or move quicker. Plyometrics uses explosive jumping exercises for maximum results. Learn correct movements with hands-on instruction. Plyometrics will be offered Sundays, March 2-30 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Wednesdays, March 5-26  from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Classes are $10 each and open to ages 10 through adults. GUITAR LESSONS
Kids ages 5 and older can learn guitar or bass guitar in this series of private lessons. Instructor John D’Amato has over 25 years as a teacher and performer. Lessons focus on improving technique, reading musical notation, improvisation and tablature. A four-week Monday session will be offered March 3-24, in 30-minute sessions between 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. ($88). Classes are held at the Franklin Recreation Complex, 1120 Hillsboro Road. BRAIN BUILDERS WITH LEGOS®
Build, design and create in this class using Lego educational materials. Students will build structures while learning teamwork, problem solving skills and having fun! Brain Builders is offered Tuesdays, March 4-25 from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. The class is $40, plus a $10 supply fee payable to the instructor, Kari Kaparos. For kids ages 6 to 10. TAE KWON DO-MPact Martial Arts
Children ages 6 and older may participate in this Martial Arts program.  Instructor Eric Melton designed the class to bring the beginner into a high level of physical well being!  Age-level classes for children are offered on an ongoing basis on Wednesdays, from 4:30 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. at the Franklin Recreation Complex, 1120 Hillsboro Road. PIANO & VOICE LESSONS
Private weekly piano or voice lessons for beginning or intermediate students offered by James Weinberg at the Franklin Recreation Complex, 1120 Hillsboro Road.  Learn mote reading skills, music theory and artistic technique using a variety of styles. Piano is offered for ages 5 and older, and voice is offered for ages 8 and older. Half-hour lessons are offered on Fridays, March 7-28 from 2:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The four-week session is $100, plus a supply fee payable to the instructor for books as needed.  For more information, visit www.jamesmusicstudio.com.
