Organic Baby Line
Soon after award-winning designer Ana Carolina Mönnaco became a first-time mother, she came to the realization that fresh ideas for contemporary women entering this next phase in life were few and far between. Her solution was to create Mama Moderne (“MM”), a company whose global reach and local appeal has drawn from the best ideas, traditions, tastes and fashions that matter to moms of all ages and origin.
In early 2011, Mama Moderne – led by Mönnaco’s own design house – began the development of a signature children’s clothing collection sourced from high quality organic materials. The recent partnership between Tweed Baby Outfitters and MM represents the company’s first foray into children’s fashion.
“After months of struggling to find modern, organic clothing we really loved for our daughter – albeit within a reasonable price range – the designer in me decided to take matters into my own hands and branch the Mama Moderne brand out in a new direction. We’re really excited to see where this new step will take us,” said Ana Carolina Mönnaco, Design Principal and CEO of Mama Moderne.
“Their debut collection is amazing. Each item is so unique and the fact that everything is made locally and by hand made it a perfect fit for our store,” said Maggie Tweedie Jetter, owner of Tweed Baby Outfitters. “We love products that are both practical and fashion forward, so we’re very excited to partner with Mama Moderne for the launch of their new line.”
All of Mama Moderne’s products are uniquely designed and handmade using 100% organic cotton fabrics and yarns. Their goal was to create a distinctive, contemporary and comfortable wardrobe for baby’s first years, along with a soft toy collection that encourages them to explore their world and imagination.
