Senior Activities in January

The Williamson County Parks and Recreation Department is pleased to announce a variety of senior programs in January at the Longview Recreation Center, 2909 Commonwealth Drive in Spring Hill. Senior programs are offered to individuals age 55 and older. Some programs require pre-registration, pre-payment and space may be limited. For more information about senior program activities, call Mary Clark at (615)302-0971, ext. 18 or view the Spring Hill monthly newsletter at www.wcparksandrec.com.  No membership is required. The Longview Recreation Center is a public facility, here to benefit the community. Anyone, including out-of-county residents, can register for and participate in classes and events held at Longview, even if you don’t have a facility pass!

AQUAMOTION
Aquamotion is a water exercise class designed for people with arthritis and post rehab conditions to improve flexibility, muscle strength and coordination. Aquamotion is held every Tuesday and Thursday from 1-2 p.m. in the indoor pool at the Longview Recreation Center at Spring Hill. No pre-registration is required, just stop by the front desk and pay the fee before the class starts. For ages 55 and over, Aquamotion is $2 and for ages 54 and under, the class fee is $3. Aquamotion is led by Hyla Kipp.

BRAIN GAMES
Are you smarter than a 5th grader? Enjoy fun and fellowship and test your knowledge with this board game filled with trivia from your school days. Brain Games will meet from10-11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 13. This activity is FREE, and a light snack will be provided. Please register from December 29- January 7. SENIOR POTLUCK AND BINGO
Seniors, ages 55 and up are invited ring in the New Year at the Longview Recreation Center, 2909 Commonwealth Drive in Spring Hill, from 12-2 p.m. on Tuesday, January 19.  After lunch, have fun playing Bingo for prizes. This is a FREE activity, and Williamson County Parks and Recreation will provide the meat and drinks. Participants are asked to bring a side dish and/or dessert to share. Please register from December 8-January 14 by calling the Longview Recreation Center at (615)302-0971, ext. 10.
