Small Wonders Pre-School Program

The Williamson County Parks and Recreation Department is pleased to announce a variety of ongoing children’s classes in October at the Longview Recreation Center, 2909 Commonwealth Drive in Spring Hill. Some classes require pre-registration and space may be limited. For more information about activities, call (615)302-0971, ext. 10, or view the Spring Hill monthly newsletter at www.wcparksandrec.com. No membership is required. The Longview Recreation Center is a public facility, here to benefit the community. Anyone, including out-of-county residents, can register for and participate in classes and events held at Longview, even if you don’t have a facility pass!

SMALL WONDERS
Children ages 3-6 will love this program with professionally planned and supervised activities that will encourage the development of their minds and bodies while having fun! Children will enjoy monthly themed activities which will include stories, songs and crafts. Physical coordination and social skills get a boost with our obstacle course, open gym and a variety of exercises and active games. Don’t let your child miss out on exploring the “Small Wonders” which bring them such joy! “Small Wonders” is held at the Longview Recreation Center at Spring Hill, 2909 Commonwealth Drive. The theme for October will be “Fall Fun!” Children must be potty trained. The cost is $40 per child for each session.

Space is limited for the Small Wonders preschool program, and children may only be registered for 1 session per month. Pre-register now by calling the Longview Recreation Center at Spring Hill, (615)302-0971, ext. 10.

GUITAR LESSONS FOR KIDS
Want to learn to play guitar? These classes provide easy to follow, step-by-step instruction. Classes include all styles of music, foundations, positions, mechanics, forms, scales, theory and time measure. Parents are invited for a first class orientation. Classroom guitars will be provided, or you can bring your own. Classes are Wednesdays, October 7-28 with ages 6-7 meeting from 4:30-5:30 p.m. (one parent may accompany the participant), ages 8-9 years meeting from 5:30-6:30 p.m. and ages 10-12 meeting from 6:30-7:30 p.m. The fee for each 4-week session is $40, and a supply fee of $40 payable to instructor, Tony Seago. POLYNESIAN DANCING
Calling all kids ages 5 to 12 years old . . . Have you ever wanted to learn to dance like the island natives of Hawaii, Samoa, New Zealand or Tahiti? Instructor Chris Hendrickson invites you to learn Polynesian dancing in a 4-week class on Wednesdays, October 7-28 from 6-7 p.m. Participants will be exposed to several representations of Polynesian dance as a form of exercise and education.  The fee for the class is $35, and the supply fee is $5.
