THERAPEUTIC RECREATION PROGRAMS IN JUNE

 

Williamson County Parks and Rec Offers Year-Round Activities 

The Therapeutic Recreation programs offered by Williamson County Parks and Recreation provide year-round leisure activities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Therapeutic programs are led by Therapeutic Recreation Specialists who assist people with disabilities to develop skills and knowledge for daily living and community involvement.  Recreation Specialists conduct monthly ongoing programs at two locations: the Franklin Recreation Complex, 1120 Hillsboro Rd. and the Longview Recreation Center at Spring Hill, 2909 Commonwealth Dr. All programs are open to the public.

Franklin Recreation Complex Activities

Potluck and Bingo

Therapeutic Recreation participants are invited to enjoy free potluck and bingo on Thursday, June 20 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Franklin Recreation Complex, 1120 Hillsboro Road, Franklin. Participants (teens and older) should bring a dish to share. Meat and drinks will be provided. This is a P.A.L.S. program (People at Leisure with Support) with caregivers required to stay with those needing support. Pre-registration is required. Recreation Night

Join us on Thursday, June 27 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. for Dinner and a movie.  Pizza, salad, chips, and dessert will be served. This is a P.A.L.S. program (People at Leisure with Support) with caregivers required to stay with those needing support. Cost is $8. Register for activity #14567 by June 26 at www.wcparksandrec.com.

Longview Recreation Center at Spring Hill Activities

Therapeutic Recreation participants are invited to enjoy free potluck and bingo on Wednesday, June 12 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Longview Recreation Center at Spring Hill, 2909 Commonwealth Dr. Participants (teens and older) should bring a dish to share. Meat and drinks will be provided. This is a P.A.L.S. program (People at Leisure with Support) with caregivers required to stay with those needing support. Pre-registration is required.
